Welcome to Landscape and Enclosure, the home page of the Northamptonshire Enclosure project.
Funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council, and supported by English Heritage and the John Clare Trust, the project seeks to ascertain the long term impact of parliamentary enclosure - the enclosing of common land by Act of Parliament 1760-1845 - on both the landscape and the communities living within it.
